Hey {{first_name | there}},

Pressure has a way of getting your attention. It squeezes out the parts of you that you thought were tucked away.

The parts you’ve managed to outrun or ignore. I’ve felt that squeeze more times than I can count. I’m pretty good at avoiding discomfort until I can’t anymore.

When our family lived in Lima, Peru for a few years, the pressure of my work mixed with cultural ignorance showed me things I didn’t want to see—frustration I hadn’t dealt with, fear I didn’t want to name, insecurities I tried to cover with effort. To be honest, it wasn’t pretty.

Pressure doesn’t create cracks. It exposes them. And every leader, no matter how seasoned, has a few places that haven’t healed all the way.

The Multiply Leader Collective is a place for leaders who want to elevate in every area of life. It’s coaching, clarity, and community built for real leaders with real pressure. If that’s you, take advantage of our free trial.

Pressure puts a light on all of it. But pressure also reveals something else—something good. It shows you the growth you didn’t even realize was happening. It shows you how far you’ve come. Pressure reveals both the gains and the gaps.

Pressure is honest like that.
And this is where your wiring matters.

When you know yourself, you can lead yourself. You move from being accidental under pressure to intentional under pressure.

Naturally…

Some respond by driving forward. Our Pioneer friends.
Some respond by steadying and securing. The Guardians.
Some respond by absorbing tension to protect others. Connectors do this.
Some respond by running every scenario in their head. This is the Creative.
Some respond by carrying weight that was never theirs. Notoriously Nurturer.

None of these are innately wrong. But unchecked, each one can cost you more than you realize. If you’re willing to notice your instincts under pressure, you’re already leading yourself better than most people ever will.

This week, when pressure shows up—and it will—don’t rush past it. Pause long enough to ask one honest question: What is this pressure trying to show me?

Leaders who learn from pressure don’t get crushed by it. They get strengthened by it.

YOU are that leader!

In Your Corner,

— Josh
